Losing documents in a computer is one of the most common problems experienced by users and it gets tougher when the deleted or misplaced date is very important and is nowhere to be found. However, if in case you find yourself in such a situation you may follow the steps below to recover your data. This also works for IOS 6.
- Navigate to the recycle bin and double-click on it. If you have or someone has mistakenly deleted the data then you should be able to find it in the recycle bin. If in case you find the data all you have to do is drag it to the desktop, click on it and then select Restore.
- If in case the vanished data is not in the recycle bin then you need to follow the steps below:
- Click on the Start button, Search and the Windows option that says “When was it modified?”. If don’t see the option stated above just click on View and the Explorer Bar. You may then click on Search, go to the left pane and then select “All files and folders”.
- If you are using Windows Vista, just go to Start, Search and then click on the down arrow located at the right side of the Advanced Search. Once you’re in the Date dropdown menu look at its left and the select Date modified.
- Once you are done doing the steps provided above look for any document that has recently been altered, renamed or created.
- If you find the document that you are looking for all you have to do is copy and save it.
- If none of the solutions above worked then check out the system administrator and see if it’s possible to retrieve a copy of the file. There are computers that are on a network that has regular backups so you may just try this option.
- And the last option is to simply get a data-recovery software program. This option may require you to spend nonetheless it allows you to recover pretty much anything that’s misplaced or deleted in your computer.
